'GET SORTED'
Get the 'Self Discovery Tower'
All children and young people have the right and the potential to carve a good life around themselves that suits their 'who they are'. But finding out what that looks like, and learning how to thrive in this complex digital world is a challenge..

'Get Sorted' has developed a tactile, visual and fun game that you can play with your children or your students ( from 10 years old to 100 years...) so they can take the first steps towards becoming familiar with their 'who they are', feelings and the mind.

The Self Discovery Tower is a physical wooden sculpture that young people can actually 'take apart' and discover what their 'who they are' is and then see how to create good feelings based on this information. Cards and instructions direct the process and create a simple and very effective way of facilitating self development.

Contains 1 Tower, 2 Stick Selves, 2 sets of cards / instructions and a handmade bag from Kenya
Videos and free online classes available too.
It starts the conversations we all need to have with our children and young people in this digital world.

It emphasises how important relationships, situations and activities we chose to do are in terms of how we experience life, and how easy it is to clear our mind if we are able to gather up our 'good feeling' circles by showing aspects of our 'who you are' by being in situations that value us.

Suitable for all learning styles and all abilities
Designed and developed using over 30 years of experience
with working with children and adults

**Some topics covered - your talents, being human, being curious, how you learn, your situations, feeling safe, loved, healthy, having purpose, meaning, belonging, how we find identity, expression of self, understanding and having a clear and quiet and focussed mind....**

Benefits of the Self Discovery Tower

Gives children a structure, a physical 'thing', and a language with which to express previously abstract ideas about themselves and their experiences.

Once you can see and touch something, it becomes so much easier to explain and to find solutions to solve situational challenges.
**A good example is to imagine the difference when trying to explain what a red apple looks like to someone with their eyes shut compared to someone who has their eyes opened. **

The 'Stick Self' and symbols represent different parts of 'who you are' and the circles touching them represent the different feelings that are created by this aspect of yourself. eg doing activities you like ( the smiling face) means you gather up feelings of belonging and identity.

Other Benefits Include:
-
Encourages communication and self exploration
-
Allows children to understand how important they are and how much they are affected by their situations and relationships.
-
Illustrates how to make good and safe decisions about themselves
-
Is a great first step towards career planning / resilience training / emotional intelligence.
-
Provides an alternative activity to the phone / computer
